More Time (New Poem)

Image
No use in trying to capture it. A spark, yes....just a spark. Just like life....it is gone in a flash. No more time to breathe, no more  time to love, no more time to create.   But maybe we can find the time.   Y es, maybe we can. Maybe we can find the time to breathe. Maybe we can find the time to love. Maybe we can find the time to create.

Continue (New Poem)

So much anger yet also so much love. Death takes us all down. Yet somehow we continue to smile.

Warm Wishes And Cold Fishes (New Poem)

Image
I don't remember going to bed last night but  I do remember waking up on this cold, cold morning. Damn this cold weather, damn it all. Warm wishes and cold fishes. (What the hell does that even mean?) So back to the beginning it seems.  A new year is right in front of us. Forget about last year. It is done and gone. Not to be seen ever again. Goodbye....A dios Amigos.

Two Glasses Of Red Wine (New Poem)

Image
Two glasses of red wine....(maybe more). And don't forget three beers. Cats sleeping. Me still up, late at night....early morning 4:05 a.m. (what-ever). Still up. Still awake. Can't sleep. Another sip of wine. Sweet. Bitter. Bliss. Songs from the 90's. Thanks to Pandora. Lost in past memories of....well, the Past. Now, now, now....Now things seem simple. Sometimes complicated....sometimes different....sometimes the same. And then it happens. Out of nowhere, the songs keep me sane. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Thank you a thousand times. With each and every decade through the 20's, 30's, 40's,  50's,  60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and yes even Beyond the music  keeps me sane and happy beyond belief.   Thank you once again and forever.   Oh, yes....let's not forget about the wine. Yes, the wine. The wine....the wine. Yes, the wine. Thank you too.

Hollywood Rockstar (New Poem) 12/18/13

Image
Alone in our silent corners of life. Years pass by and by. The Hollywood rock star dreams of youth is now replaced by the 9 to 5 day job. No wild late night parties, just bedtime stories with the kids. Yet sometimes we drift away in sweet bliss with the help of pleasant memories  and great music from our past  and yes, maybe a little bit of alcohol.  But in the end it always comes back to the music. It's the only thing that matters. Just the music.... just the music.

Black Russians (New Poem) 12/5/13

Image
Bowman's Vodka. Kahlua Liqueur. Not quite late at night but it is dark.  (A little bit past eight o' clock). A few sips here and there. A few more sips here and there. Volume turned up listening to Alice Cooper. Sitting here in blue jeans and a grey Virginia is for Lover's t-shirt. Alice Cooper Rocks! Glass is empty....need more to drink. Should be working on my novel but it can wait. (Wait!!  No, it can't). Glass is still empty. ....pours more Vodka and Kahlua into glass.

Halloween....the weeks before (New Poem) 10/8/13

Image
Pumpkin spiced beer, pumpkin rolls,  and more pumpkin treats.   An all night T.V. show  Halloween themed  marathon  featuring "Roseanne",  "The Simpsons", "Charlie Brown",  "Garfield", "Scooby Doo",  and all the rest.   Kids dressing up in their favorite  Halloween costumes weeks before Oct. 31st.  Candy filled dreams  and mid-night screams.   Halloween  is here once again  so it seems.   Yeah, I know it got kind of corny at the end but....Hey, deal with it.

David Bowie & Red Wine (New Poem) 4/18/13

Image
Late...um...ah...actually it's early  morning  about 1:40 a.m. A David Bowie song called  "Moonage Daydream"  is playing on Spotify.   It's such a great song. David Bowie  is fucking awesome.  Eating a vegetarian egg roll.  Yum!   Oh, and drinking sweet  red wine. Feeling really god.  I mean good.

A Simple Poem About Stuff...Man (New Poem) 4/11/13

Speaking of things that matter and  also  of things that don't matter. (I take that back....speaking of things that only matter). Drinking three beers from Lexington, Virginia.    Vienna Lager from Devil's Backbone Brewing Company. (Wait make that four beers).  Listening to David Bowie on Spotify  and other cool artists.    (Such as the Grateful Dead). One more sip of beer then it's off to bed. Goodnight. (And sleep tight).
