Country Music (The Good Kind)

Image
Thank you Jenny Newman for making  me appreciate Country music even more. I can relate to the songs of Hank Williams Sr., Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and even Elvis on a much more deeper level than before.

The Vinyl Revolution (New Poem)

Look at all these records. Every kind of genre. Fucking beautiful. Old style. New style. The past and future. A blast into the present. A sound of pure happiness. The vinyl revolution.

United (New Poem)

More to write. More to do. More to know. Dreams happen and dreams shatter. So much to find....so much to learn. No more secrets. Open hearts. Our souls united by music.

Music Playlist (New Poem)

In more ways than one music  still brings us together.  The records  continue to spin.  We still dance and  sing out loud.  Now more than ever.

Two Glasses Of Red Wine (New Poem)

Image
Two glasses of red wine....(maybe more). And don't forget three beers. Cats sleeping. Me still up, late at night....early morning 4:05 a.m. (what-ever). Still up. Still awake. Can't sleep. Another sip of wine. Sweet. Bitter. Bliss. Songs from the 90's. Thanks to Pandora. Lost in past memories of....well, the Past. Now, now, now....Now things seem simple. Sometimes complicated....sometimes different....sometimes the same. And then it happens. Out of nowhere, the songs keep me sane. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Thank you a thousand times. With each and every decade through the 20's, 30's, 40's,  50's,  60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and yes even Beyond the music  keeps me sane and happy beyond belief.   Thank you once again and forever.   Oh, yes....let's not forget about the wine. Yes, the wine. The wine....the wine. Yes, the wine. Thank you too.

Drinking (New Poem) 8/17/14

Image
Damn, I'm getting old. It's past one a.m. in the morning and I'm still up. Been drinking Moonshine (legal moonshine that is) for most of the night. Good old "Virginia Lightning" 100% corn whiskey (Damn, good stuff). Even though I have to work in the morning I'm still up and feeling fine. No need for sleep.   Oh no. no. no. Not a care in the world. Just listening to the music channels on Direct TV. So many great songs from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and of course the 90's. Scribbled and scratched out words in the clear light of day reveal this  late night drunken rambling poem to be completely full of....s....h....i....t.

Hollywood Rockstar (New Poem) 12/18/13

Image
Alone in our silent corners of life. Years pass by and by. The Hollywood rock star dreams of youth is now replaced by the 9 to 5 day job. No wild late night parties, just bedtime stories with the kids. Yet sometimes we drift away in sweet bliss with the help of pleasant memories  and great music from our past  and yes, maybe a little bit of alcohol.  But in the end it always comes back to the music. It's the only thing that matters. Just the music.... just the music.

I Love Spotify (New Poem) 4/19/13

Drinking two beers. Listening to great music on Spotify once again.   So many great bands.  I love Spotify.   So many great old and new and different  bands  to discover.   It makes me so happy I just  want to  forget about everything.   It makes me so  happy I  just want to turn up the volume  and swim  in an  ocean  of endless music and dance  and sing  out  loud and all kinds of shit.
